Hillsdale, Mich. – After a successful first year in 2022, McKibbin Media Group (MMG) has announced that it will bring back the WCSR Smoke Show BBQ and Concert festival presented by County National Bank on Saturday, June 17, 2023. The event will once again be held at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds and offer free admission to the public.
Hosted by WCSR 92.1 FM and its sister station 99.5 FM The Dale, the festival was created in 2022 as a way to bring more entertainment to the Hillsdale, Michigan community. Last year’s event featured a BBQ community cooking competition, plus live music entertainment and a Kids Zone, among other activities. The 2023 event will feature all those activities again, plus more!
The festival-style event will be FREE to the public, however, a $5 per-person tasting wristband will be required to participate in the BBQ sampling. Hours of the event will be announced at a later date.
“The WCSR Smoke Show presented by County National Bank was a great success last year and we are excited to bring the event back to Hillsdale for a second year,” MMG President and Owner Katina McKibbin said. “We are continuing to grow the event by adding new elements every year. The 2023 event will be a ‘can’t-miss’ festival for the community.”
More details on the event will be announced at a later date, but the community and its local businesses can sign up for the BBQ competition now. Applications are available at www.radiohillsdale.com. Over $2,000 in cash prizes will be issued, courtesy of County National Bank, to the top teams with a local celebrity guest panel conducting the judging!
