MLK Diversity Breakfast speakers reflect on importance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day – listen here

Jackson, Mich. — Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. WKHM spoke with Keynote speakers the Willis Family at the MLK Diversity Breakfast on Friday, January 13. John Willis said, “let’s put legs onto Martin Luther King’s Dream.”

 

Khari Willis said what’s happening today would not be possible without the legacy of Dr. King.

 

Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney said event’s like what happened Friday are a result of Martin Luther King stood for.

 

The Jackson County Branch of the NAACP is hosting the MLK Day of Service today, Monday, January 16, at the Greater Bible Way Temple. Keynote speaker is Dr. Ken Harris, President and CEO of the National Business League. Doors open at 10 a.m., Dr. Harris will speak at 11 a.m. and light lunch will be available afterwards. All are welcome and the admission is free. The Greater Bible Way Temple is located ath 322 Madison Street in Jackson.
