One Suspect in Custody, Two Others Wanted for Homicide for Fatal Jackson County Shooting

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Office of the Sheriff (JCSO) has provided an update to their investigation regarding the fatal shooting that occurred on May 16, 2025, in the 100 block of Lincoln Court.

Following a multi-month investigation, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office has formally charged three individuals in connection with the homicide of Anthony Owens Jr. and the wounding of three other victims in Summit Township.

Shortly after midnight on May 16, 2025, officials say three subjects approached a residence on Lincoln Court on foot and opened fire, striking four men.

The victims were rushed to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital. Owens succumbed to his injuries on May 17, 2025.

One of the suspects, Tyrek Tra-Quan Jabrie Rice, was located in Ohio and is currently in custody (picture below from the JCSO).

In Custody

 

The JCSO is actively seeking the public’s assistance in locating the two remaining suspects, 26-year-old Dion Jamel Flowers Jr. and 27-year-old Montez Martees White (pictured below from the JCSO).

Wanted Wanted

Authorities say both subjects are wanted for the homicide and are believed to be armed and dangerous.

These individuals face several felony charges, including:

  • Open Murder
  • Assault with Intent to Murder
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
  • Felony Firearm
