JACKSON, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is making it easier for residents to file non-emergency reports with a new online reporting system.
The service allows people to report incidents such as abandoned vehicles, minor car-deer crashes, identity theft, retail fraud, thefts, or suspicious situations directly through the department’s website.
Once a report is submitted, a deputy will review it and respond by phone or email within 48 hours with an incident number.
Officials stress the system is for non-emergencies only — anyone experiencing a crime in progress or medical emergency should still call 911.
Online reporting is available only for incidents within the sheriff’s patrol area, not within the City of Jackson or the townships of Blackman, Leoni, Columbia, Spring Arbor, Napoleon, or Springport.
More details and the reporting form can be found on the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office website.
