Brooklyn, Mich. (WKHM) — Five businesses in the Village of Brooklyn are getting help with exterior facelifts with the help of funding from the Village’s Corridor Improvement Authority, which has awarded them grants from their Façade Improvement Program.

  • Angel’s Floral Creations has received $1,000 for façade brick repair and exterior coating
  • ERA Reardon Realty has gotten $1,000 for a new illuminated sign
  • Lakeside Custom Printing will use their $1,000 award for new wall siding
  • The Star Theatre gets $1,000 more to help with restoration efforts for their façade steel panel
  • Spellbound Owl Boutique will use $402 on an exterior sign upgrade

The façade program is described by village officials as a way for local businesses to get assistance with improving the exteriors of their properties.

It is funded by the Village of Brooklyn Corridor Improvement Authority, which captures a portion of taxes from commercial corridors and uses the funds to reinvest in the community.
