Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson Police Department (JPD) is investigating a fatal shooting involving a 17-year-old male victim, with authorities saying that the self-inflicted gunshot wound was indicated to be accidental.
Officers with the JPD were dispatched to the 200 block of N Pleasant Street at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday (April 27) for a 911 call of a shooting.
The victim was located with a gunshot wound to the head. Medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The investigation is currently ongoing, but the JPD says preliminary findings indicate this was possibly an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.
