Michigan Center School District Hiring at Transportation Positions Amidst Bus Staffing Shortage

Michigan Center School District

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Center School District is hiring at multiple positions in their transportation department in the midst of a bus staffing shortage.

Michigan Center says they were unable to run multiple bus routes on December 5 due to drivers calling in shortly before morning routes began.

According to a statement from Michigan Center Superintendent Brady Cook, two drivers abruptly ended their employment with the district within the past week and their Transportation Supervisor has given a two weeks-notice for another job opportunity.

Until the district is fully staffed, the district says they are expected to have at least one route per day that cannot be ran.

Michigan Center says they are diligently working to fill positions. Individuals interested in the role of Bus Driver, Substitute Bus Driver, Bus Rider Aide, or Transportation Supervisor are encouraged to contact the Superintendent’s Office at 517-764-5778.
