NAPOLEON, Mich. (WKHM) — Napoleon Township Police have made an arrest in a high-speed incident that many in the community witnessed last week. Two off-duty officers first spotted a vehicle racing toward downtown Napoleon at nearly 100 miles per hour on Brooklyn Road. An on-duty officer confirmed the vehicle’s speed by radar but was unable to catch up as it sped out of sight. Investigators later received photos and video from residents and local businesses, and police technology helped fill in the gaps. The department’s FLOCK camera system captured clear images of the speeding vehicle, allowing officers to identify the driver.
A 20-year-old man from Jackson was arrested at his home and is now in the Jackson County Jail, facing charges of fourth-degree fleeing and eluding. Napoleon Police thanked the community for their help in bringing the case to a quick resolution.
