LANSING, Mich. (WKHM) — A Jackson man has been convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the 2023 shooting death of 18-year-old Braylon Shepherd in Lansing.
An Ingham County jury found 19-year-old Xavian Soto guilty of second-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm.
Police say Shepherd was found with a gunshot wound after crashing his vehicle on Sadie Court last November. Soto was arrested less than a day later following a joint investigation by Lansing Police and Michigan State Police.
Soto now faces up to life in prison when he’s sentenced.
