MSP Drug Take Back Day

drugs

Michigan State Police posts across the state will take part in National Drug Take Back Day next Saturday, giving residents a safe and free way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

The goal is to keep drugs out of the hands of children, pets, and those at risk of addiction. Last year, more than 1,000 pounds of prescription drugs were collected statewide.

All Michigan State Police posts will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th for drop-offs. Residents can also safely dispose of medications on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Michigan State Police Jackson Post is located at 3401 Cooper street.

Officials remind the public that blister packs, liquids, and illegal drugs will not be accepted. For information on how to safely dispose of those items, contact your local police department.
